What is Hypnosis?
Let me answer the question, “What is hypnosis?” Hypnosis is a process by which you can bypass the conscious mind of a person so that your suggestions can be rooted directly into her/his subconscious mind. It is a state of mind called trance in which the person is bound to follow your suggestions as long as s/he is in this state. Suggestions can also be rooted that s/he will follow in future at predetermined time.
There are many forms of hypnosis such that:
- Self Hypnosis
- Hetero Hypnosis
- Stage Hypnosis
- Mass Hypnosis
- Covert Hypnosis
- Clinical Hypnosis
Let’s talk about each of them one by one:
This form of hypnosis is used by a person to hypnotize himself. He induce hypnosis himself and give positive suggestion to himself according to his need. Anyone can learn self hypnosis and use it for personal development and overcome bad habits and so on.
This form of hypnosis is used to hypnotize someone else. Hypnosis is induced by other person who knows how to hypnotize.
Stage hypnosis is used for the purpose of entertainment. A professional hypnotist may hypnotize a number of volunteers and make them do weird things to entertain the audience.
Mass hypnosis is used to hypnotize large groups, mostly by politicians and religious leaders to make environment in favour of them. They say absurd things repeatedly but their followers follow them all religiously as ultimate truths. It is included in training programs of armed forces, police department and investigating agencies. It is used by big organisations to control the behaviour of their employees and by advertising companies to make you purchase their products. It is also used by motivators and trainers to make their work easier and more effective.
Covert hypnosis is a very subtle form of hypnosis in which a hypnotist can hypnotize a person and the person does not even aware a bit that he is hypnotized.
Clinical hypnosis is a systematic and structured form of hypnosis which is used by therapists to help their patients to resolve their psychological issues. It is used to overcome bad habits and unwanted behaviours. It is also used to resolve relationship related issues, personal development and career planning.
